2022.01.28 19:53 doommaster87 Day 2 Anxiety and Nasuea are bad
Its day 2 and im experiencing really bad naseua and panic
I have 5mg valiums that I'm planning to help me get through these first few days with this anxiety
would that be okay? Doctors here are really anti benzo, so it's hard to discuss with them. Their advice is 'wait it out' but the anxiety, even with all my resourcing techniques (meditation, breathing, body scanning etc.) the anxiety is quite bad and I need relief now.

2022.01.28 19:53 tipstripes Career advice: Moved from Delivery to Customer Success, how do I learn to relax and get out of the delivery mindset?
In 2021, after 6 years of experience as a data annotation specialist and leading data annotation pipelines for different ML product startups, I landed a job as a customer success manager thanks to my domain expertise🎉 I’m starting slow, but I just realized that I need to get out of the delivery mindset of managing tasks into the customer-leading mindset of moving projects along. The project I inherited was from someone who quit because they took in too much responsibility in the project, and I find myself starting to do the same thing. My manager does not want our CS team to be Ops (but in Machine Learning, I find it tends to be)
Any advice for breaking out of the operational mindset and into the CS mindset?
Most client calls include the client team, our delivery team, sales and me, the CS.

2022.01.28 19:53 Jokobib Little Women by Greta Gerwig
About one year ago I saw this movie, I had not watched a lot of period dramas but I had been introduced to Saoirse Ronan and Greta Gerwig three days prior when I saw Lady Bird. I liked both movies but as it was early in my time of watching film neither of them clicked as great.
Yesterday Little Women from 1994 showed up on Netflix and I decided to give it a watch. Winona Ryder was great as Jo and the score enhanced nearly every scene when it was present, but I never felt that the production design or cinematography was as good as it needed to be to truly make me like it. This adaptation isn't bad but while Ryder's performance should have been good enough the other performances were too weak.
After watching it I felt that I needed to revisit Greta Gerwig's version. Gerwig makes a movie that is much better than the 1994 version, not only because of the improved production design and cinematography, but because of the choice to show it in two timelines. I know some people had a problem with the constant cutting between now and then. However, because the editing is as seamless as it can be in a movie like this, and that the movie clearly tells us if we are in the warm past or in the more cold present I was never lost trying to figure out where we were, but rather in the beauty of it all. It has the happy, the sad and the satisfying moments and they all blend beautifully together because of the way it was told.
It explores the lives of these four sisters, obviously the focus is on Jo March but all of them get enough screen time to flesh out these characters. It does not feel like any of the sisters choices are overly questioned, even though our main character does not understand all of them. There is not any character who is evil or mean (though Streep's character and the guy buying March's book were a bit dry as some probably were back then), which feels like I have rarely seen before. It makes this movie a lot more unique, often a struggle in film is shown with a face but here the struggle is face less. The struggle obviously exists, just shown in another way.
There is so much to say about it despite it looking a bit shallow on the surface for some. When I rewatched this last night my love for this story and Gerwig's directing was ignited, I thought that this surely was a best director worthy film but the Oscars said no sadly (sure, 2019 was a great year for movies but I know one director that should not have been there). I have a question, what are some other movies that switch between past and present in this way? Would love to see this type of storytelling more.
(I hope this is in depth enough for TrueFilm as it is basically only a love letter to the movie, I will happily delete it if it suits movies or some other sub better)

2022.01.28 19:53 massdebate159 TIFU by drinking 3 cans of cider in the morning after finishing a night shift.
Obligatory, didn't happen today, it was last week.
I work night shifts Monday-Friday. My last shift of the week starts 10pm Friday and finishes 6am Saturday.
I dont know if this is relevant, but I'm in the UK.
Saturday morning is the start of my weekend. Woo! Now, I love a drink. Saturday morning is usually my time to wind down after a tough week. According to my corrupt government, I'm an essential worker.
No-one in my house is awake, 6am is my time to enjoy a drink, eat crap, have a nice bath and relax.
I drank 3 cans of cider, ate a Pot Noodle (to any non- Brits reading this, a Pot Noodle is a substantial gourmet British meal that takes 5 minutes to prepare via the kettle).
After consuming all of that, I had a nice relaxing bath, before bed.
A typical Saturday night for me usually means me going to meet my boyfriend in a local pub (he lives one city over from me- 20 minutes via train) and spending the rest of the weekend at his house.
I awoke at 6pm Saturday, which is pretty good for me. I usually meet my fella in the evening anyway. I had a cup of tea and had a few slices of toast before leaving my house. Normal routine.
To get to my boyfriend's town, I need to get a bus from my house (15 mins) to the train station, then 20mins in the train. As I was waiting for the bus, my stomach churned like it had never churned before. I've always has what I would call a "nervous tummy". Travelling anywhere exaggerates this bizarre phenomenon. I get this on my way to work a lot. No drama, just take Imodium and I'll be fine.
Bus drives towards me. I put my hand out. Bus indicates that he's stopping. Bus driver, for whatever reason, decided not to stop and keeps going. I notice this and yells and chases bus as he passes (think Steve Martin in Train, Planes and Automobiles). As I run for the bus, my colon does a conga. My pants are suddenly wet. I appear to have shat myself. I'm too embarrassed to go home. I wait for the next bus to the station. I have a bag full of clean clothes, so I'm not too fussed.
There's a delay to my train. By this point I'm embarrassed and in dire need of a shower. I text my boyfriend saying that I'm unwell. He's the best person ever, so he's very understandable. I go to a nearby pub to use the toilets to discover the horror within my pants. I'm so grateful that I came equipped. I cleaned up ad best as I could, had a few drinks then went home.
TLDR: ran for a bus and shit myself.
