2022.01.24 17:08 vinesaurus Finally tested negative for COVID-19!
So, I work virtually for another country, and I had to come to this country for a period of a week for something that I had to do physically while being there.
I decided to come for two weeks, just so I can spend some time with my colleagues because we've been working together virtually for 6 months, and I was very excited to see them in person and work together.
Up until now, COVID-19 had been around for almost 2 years, and I never got infected - was always cautious. There were times when I was not even careful, yet nothing happened. I leave the country once - I get the virus.
I had never gotten a COVID test done, I had to get one for travelling international - I tested negative, everything went well.
And then I had to take a test because one colleague tested had tested positive after having a few symptoms. Let a few days pass, isolated myself, then I tested before my originally planned flight - tested positive - again. Let a few more days pass by, purchased a self-test kit - tested positive.
I did the COVID test for the 5th time - I FINALLY TESTED NEGATIVE. It is almost 2am and I got my results a few minutes ago, and I genuinely teared up because I want to go home, I miss my family, I miss my dog so much, I've missed two important birthdays and I finally fly home in 38 hours, and I just wanted to share this, so yeah. Woohoo!

2022.01.24 17:08 Countryliving503 It may be
It may be that the flames have consumed me, it may be I am running away from the fire, but what there is no may to is the way your flame draws me only that it does. I admitted to liking dancing in the flames but I can’t stay here alone, so I may be running away from the flame, only to know if you decide to ignite the fire I will be there...either way I will be wishing for you to be well

2022.01.24 17:08 record_d Doctors differing opinion on medication interaction. Can I (24F) take Naproxen and Zomig at the same time?
I (24F) have regular migraines and have been through the usual routes of different medications to find what works best for me, which is Zomig. Before taking this I sometimes take Naproxen (500mg) as I get spasms in my neck. When I was first prescribed Zomig the doctor told me I can't also have naproxen at the same time because they interact. I then moved doctors surgery and when I requested the zomig I asked about the interaction as I had been suffering with my neck from not taking naproxen. The doctor said they hadn't heard of that before and said they would have a look into it (it was a phone appointment). The doctor called me back and said they couldn't find anything specific about it but it was best not to take them at the same time just incase. Now two years later I have moved surgery's again and was speaking to my new doctor about refilling my prescription for Zomig, she asked me if I also needed my Naproxen prescription aswell. I was shocked so asked about the interaction but she was definitive in her answer that I can take both at the same time and it actually really helps with migraines. I would really like to take them both at once if they do help, I am just worried about all the differing opinions. Or maybe it was that one doctor initially that was wrong? Does anyone have any idea? Incase this is needed: UK Weight-50kg Height-5'4 I do not smoke and rarely drink. Blood pressure is normal Also on the minipill to try and reduce migraines? Have about 1 migraine a month

2022.01.24 17:08 Leather_Cycle Excessive use of force?
I've witnessed a couple times where doctors and nurses used physical force when patients were non-compliant. To be fair, all of these interactions I've seen were with 5150, ETOH, and psych patients who were aggressive or threatening aggression or were being intentionally non-compliant towards other hospital staff and patients. Here are some details of the incidents I've seen.
Incident #1: we had an ETOH pt who exceeded their 24-hour observation and were ready to be discharged allowing us to free up a bed for another pt in waiting. The pt decided to ignore the nurse and the doctor and continue sleeping (or pretend to be sleeping). The doctor grabs the pt by the wrists and forces them on their feet to walk to the bathroom to get changed. The other staff acted like this was normal, but it was my first time seeing a doctor do that to a pt so it caught me off guard. Not sure how the situation could've been handled another way? Thoughts?
Incident #2: we had a pt that came in complaining of wrist pain. The pt has a Hx of diabetes and when we checked the pt's blood glucose was above 600 (1,350 to be exact). So the nurse immediately focuses on that. Over the course of care, the pt started to annoy staff with a list of demands from extra blankets to food/soda. We told the pt that soda/food was a no go due to high blood sugar, but the pt took matters into their own hands and took a detour to the refrigerator after using the bathroom to grab a snack and soda. The nurses confine the pt to their room which pisses off the pt. The pt becomes verbally aggressive towards one of the nurses and makes a threatening move toward that nurse, looking like he meant to do the nurse harm. The primary care nurse in the room (male nurse), tackles the pt into the bed and holds him down, telling the pt that its not okay to threaten the nurses. The pt pulls the victim card and takes out a cellphone to start recording everything for their mom to witness. Long story short, pt refuses care from some of the nurses, will accept some treatment but not the geodon or ativan so we can't discharge AMA according to the doctor, and the pt is stuck with the primary care nurse who aggravates the pt every time they come into contact because we are short on nurses that shift. Not sure how necessary it was to tackle the pt, but was wondering how else the situation could've been handled?
I'm relatively new to handling aggressive pt in a hospital environment. Most of my 5150 pt in BLS transport have been either heavily sedated or compliant. Not saying violence isn't necessary, but just wanted a second opinion. Thanks!

I have a 20 PP1 car and I love the wheels but the rears just arent wide enough for me. Was thinking about buying the 10" wide rears only on american muscle and adding some beefier rear tires. What setup do you guys run?
