So I have a ton of body creams from the SAS and also from when I bought the fall bake shop collection this year.
Why are they coming out yellow not instead of white? Does that mean they’re bad?

2021.12.02 17:57 brodino_maiuscolo Can you help a noob understanding fouls in NBA 2k22?

I'd like to ask a couple of questions regarding fouls. Usually when I'm defending I hold down the L2 key while being attached to the ball carrier. Many times it is effective and I never foul, except in the last moments of the last quarter, when I do the same but my players seem to be more aggressive and automatically foul often. How does this happen and how canI improve this? And another question about fouls. I know you can steal the ball with the square button or by holding the right stick down. Usually when I do this I commit a foul so I never use it, how do I know the timing of when I should press the button?

2021.12.02 17:57 Flar71 I have an assignment for my class, and I chose to talk about the ethical implications associated with the Orokin's creation of the Sentients. Feel free to critique my work.

I have an assignment for my class that covers technology and it's impact on society, and I need to record a video of me talking about a sci-fi property I like and the ethical implications of technology used in it. I chose to talk about Warframe.

It might be a little sloppy, but I wanted to get other people's opinion on what I wrote for my script. Feel free to critique my explanation, ideas I posit, and point out any errors I have made. I decided to make my topic about the Sentients since I feel they are a great comparison to technology we could possibly develop in the future. Maybe not as complex as them, but similar at least.

Anyway, here's what I wrote, including the questions I had to answer. Sorry if it's sloppy, I didn't really edit it. Here goes:

1 - Title of movie/TV-show/book?
Instead of a movie, show, or book, I would like to talk about the video game Warframe.

2 - Why is this your favorite movie/TV-show/book?
I have been playing warframe for 6 years now, I have about 2500 hours in the game. I really enjoy the game for it’s unique gameplay, but also its deep lore and ongoing story. While I sometimes put the game down and lose interest for a while, I always find myself coming back, especially when they have new updates. Newest update, the new war, is coming soon, and it will likely be the conclusion, or maybe the next big step in the story that started 6 years ago, around the time when I started playing. This update will focus on the war between the sentients and the tenno, which will be the focus of this video. One thing to note, if you happen to be into warframe but are not up to date on the story, I will be going into spoilers.

3 - Give us a synopsis about the movie/TV-show/book.
In terms of gameplay, Warframe is a third-person cooperative looter-shooter where you play as the tenno who are basically space ninjas with almost magical powers that they get from the void. The tenno command advanced weapons systems called warframes, which are kind of like super suits, but they’re more like puppets, but I won’t get too into that. Warframes have regenerative shields, greatly enhanced mobility, and supernatural abilities specific to each warframe. The main aim of the game is to build your arsenal and use mods to make your weapons and warframes more powerful.
As for the lore, warframe’s lore is very deep and would take a long time to go through, longer than this video should go on for, but I will try to give just enough background to cover what you need to know to understand the main topic of this video.
Warframe takes place in what is most likely meant to be either an alternate universe, or the same universe as ours but thousands, maybe even millions of years in the future, possibly both. Basically, it all starts with the Orokin, which was an ancient civilization that ruled over the origin system (our solar system). The Orokin were an advanced, likely posthuman race that spread throughout the origin system, harvesting each of the planets for their natural resources and building factories and cities all where they went. As they were obsessed with luxury and domination, and saw themselves as basically gods who ruled over the system. Practically all the events that take place in the game, all of the conflicts, are because of the orokin. They created armies of clones to perform slave labor, conducted research on biological weapons, created solar rails for interplanetary travel, and even discovered a resource called kuva that would effectively make them immortal.
When resources from each of the planets weren’t enough, they looked out to other systems for more. The orokin set their eyes on the Tau system, and created advanced terraforming drones that could adapt to any damage they encountered and replicated using damaged components and any other resources they could find. These drones were tasked with creating a massive interstellar rail from the origin system to the tau system. However, these drones would find out that the void poisoned them, and damaged their ability to reproduce, and they would likely lay stranded in the tau system once they had finished their purpose. A brief explanation of the void, it is a mysterious extradimensional space filled with a unique energy and altered laws of physics. The solar rails harness the energy of the void to teleport ships over long distances. It is likely that the orokin purposefully allowed the drones to be weak to void energy as a failsafe, as they likely knew what could happen next.
These drones, who are now known as Sentients, were so advanced and adaptable that, as the name entails, gained sentience along their journey to the tau system. They discovered that the orokin would lay waste to the tau system, as they did with Earth, and they knew that after they would finish their journey to the tau system, the orokin would abandon them as they would serve no more use to them. With this knowledge, the Sentients turned on the orokin, and thus, the Old War began. Due to their high adaptability in both combat and knowledge, the Sentients were, and still are, a terrifying enemy. The orokin were desperate to find any means to defeat them. They tried to find a way to use their techno-organic bio-weapon known as the Infestation to combat the Sentients. Most of their research failed, which led to the Infestation going out of control and infecting some parts of the system, but one strain showed promise and would later be used to create the warframes. The warframes, used by the tenno, were an integral part of the war against the Sentients. Ultimately, the orokin won the war with the sentients and drove them back to the tau system, but over time, the tenno realized how bad the orokin actually were, and turned on them, eventually wiping them out.
Years in the future, the sentients have reemerged in the origin system, and seeing all that the orokin had done to the system, they want to “cleanse” it of all the remnants of the orokin and restore it to what it once was. The Sentients do not want to kill all life in the origin system, they just want to control it and shape it into their idea of a more perfect image. They see the tenno as part of the orokin and wish to wipe them out. The tenno are also the biggest obstacle blocking them from realizing their vision.

4 - What is the main premise relating to technology?
The relation to technology here are the Sentients.

5 - What is ethical or unethical about the use of this technology?
Being sentient machines, it raises some major ethical concerns. Whether or not the Orokin intended on giving the Sentients sentience, they are sentient now, and have their own wants and needs, and even exhibit emotions, self-awareness, and free will. Because of this, I believe that continuing to use them with the intent of discarding them later is highly unethical. The Orokin have been known to ignore ethical concerns, but this one is what ultimately led to their demise. The sentients are just as, if not more, intelligent as humans, and given the way the Orokin used them, this would be akin to slavery.

6 - If the movie/TV show/book is set in the future, how accurate do you feel the technology could be developed? Explain any implications that technology may hurt or help society?
Most technology in Warframe would not be possible in real life. The biggest thing that is inaccurate to what is possible is the void. It is so complex and mysterious that it is effectively magic. There are also plenty of other things that break the laws of physics, or use invented materials, things that would definitely not work in real life.
However, the concept of the Sentients is possible. Maybe not their implementation, but the concept of using highly adaptable, self-replicating drones to explore the universe and terraform planets could feasibly be done in the future. The implications this could hold for our society are the same ones the Orokin faced in warframe. The Orokin’s demise was entirely their own fault. As they were blinded by greed, their own creations turned against them, and there was ultimately nothing they could do to prevent their own destruction. If we are not careful, we could end up in a similar situation. Autonomous machines could be very useful to us, but the more advanced they become, the more careful we have to be with implementing them. If we happen to make machines that are fully sentient, we should take full precautions with them. We may even need to negotiate with them and ensure they have the same rights as us. If the machines are advanced enough, mistreating them could result in a war we cannot win. We should have just as many precautions for non-sentient autonomous machines too. Otherwise we could have a grey goo scenario, that being one where we develop advanced nanobots that self-replicate, but have no limit and eventually consume all the biomass on earth, including us, to replicate themselves.
The concept of the Orokin can be seen as a commentary on what humans could become if left unchecked. Their greed and lust for power has led to nothing but the remains of a broken empire, exhausted and dying planets, and a system torn by endless war between the people they left behind. The Grineer, who were once the Orokin’s army of clones meant to build and mine, are now their own militaristic, violent empire that seeks to take over the origin system by force. The Corpus, a faction that was basically founded by former peasants that were ruled over by the Orokin, are now a conglomerate of plutocratic, commercial, and industrial interests seeking nothing but wealth and profit even at the expense of those under them. The Infestation, a bioweapon created by the Orokin, now spreads through the system infecting everything it touches, be it living or machine. The tenno seek to bring balance to the system, but even they aren’t perfect. Instead of bringing peace, they balance the system by ensuring that the aforementioned factions don’t win over another. In the end, they can’t bring peace, because defeating one faction would lead to the others becoming too powerful to defeat, and it would be impossible for them to defeat each all at once. It might not even be possible for the tenno to fully defeat the grineer or the infestation, given how fast they can replicate their numbers. The only faction that could end all the conflict could be the Sentients. The only issue is that if the Sentients win, would they act in the best interest of the people who live in the origin system, or would they only act in their own self-interest. That remains to be seen.

7 - If the movie/TV show/book was set in the past, how accurate do you feel the technology has been created as of today? Has it helped or hurt society and why?
N/A, it's not set in the past.

I'm usually pretty nervous about sharing my work online, so I felt compelled to so that I could be sure everything is good before I finish this assignment. Also it might be good for some decent discussion since it's relevant to the new war update coming very soon.
