2021.12.05 08:23 python_pls begginer subscripting question
two_digit_number = input("Type a two digit number: ")
first_digit = int(two_digit_number) second_digit = int(two_digit_number) print(first_digit + second_digit)
This works just fine for only 2 digits but how would one write a code for a big number with many digits?

2021.12.05 08:23 BeBetterToEachOther It has been worse. It was made better. By people. Brave people, who lived, worked, striked, protested, fought and bled and died so that those who came after them could live better live. Could have dignity. Have respect. And be prosperous. It can be again. It will be again. So Say We All.
I am not a brave person. I am not strong. No great orator, no inventor, no leader of armies or manager of industry.
But we don't have to be. As long as we seek to be good people. To help.
Are they the lucky ones? Those who came before us? That's what you're thinking isn't it. That they don't see how things have changed. That they don't care. That they think everyone is entitled. Haven't recognised that they benefit from those who fought before them. Some of them, sure. Perhaps even most of them. But there's plenty that fell through the cracks, picking up crumbs just like the rest of us.
Police and 'Justice' are used as tools to exploit and enforce the requirements imposed by institutional capital onto our 'Representatives', but what representation do we have?
Stock markets through the roof, while we're desperately plugging holes in our own. The roads and bridges are crumbling. Prisoners are being used as slaves, working for pennies. We can't afford homes. We're pushed beyond the lines of affordability, out into poverty and cycles of debt. Limited time. Limited freedom. Few options, and now, inflation taking what little we have.
Maybe it would have been better for us to have been in an earlier time. For some of us, at least; It was certainly not a good time for all. Instead of selling our finite time to feed the endless greed that creates scarcity to force subservience to the institutional capital holders.
We come to the close of another year. Another year where labor is disjointed, split, and turned against each other. Arguing over petty differences in tax policy, about whether the bullshit busyjobs should cover healthcare. Kept in line by people who make a few extra cents an hour, passing on the requirements of those greasing the ladder above. Kept in line by people who have had the boot on their neck for so long that they don't have the energy to realise they are drowning with the rest of us.
Will 2022 be the same? How can it not be? Some of us will work. Some of us will strike. Some of us will protest. Will fight. Will bleed. Will die. Whether through action, through exploitation, or the unending passage of time these things will pass and begin anew.
But if there is one thing you can do, it is to help. Bring a struggling friend into your home. Let your workmate sleep on the couch. Have a community kitchen for your apartment block. Pick up some trash on your way home. Offer your time to help people with tasks. Offer your knowledge to help people learn.
Institutional Capital has worked hard to keep us busy. To keep us treading water. To remove the most natural, most human thing in the world, to extract it, and reform it for their needs. To crush that which is their greatest threat.
Community. Comradery. Humanity. Refuse busywork. Demand dignity. Seek help. But most importantly, help each other.
That's all it takes. Talk to each other. Be willing to help each other. Be willing to ask others for help. Find community. Build community. Share life. We only get a century at best. Don't let them demand it from you. Demand to live it.
In 2022, I will help my friends. My neighbours. My community.

2021.12.05 08:23 ToriToriWOOP Lost my love for parents
I (24F) have been raised in a loving environment with parents who are kind, nurturing and really supportive. Recently I've realised that I've come to love my parents less and less, to the point that I don't really care if they're home or out.
While it's true that I've been getting busier lately, and spend most of my time home cooped in my room, I don't think it's a reason for being so emotionally detached with my parents. I do set aside one weekend per week for family outings (just parents and myself, no siblings), but after reaching home I'll once again go in my room.
Has anyone experienced this before? Does it go away with time? I'm scared I won't come to love my parents anymore.

2021.12.05 08:23 cantonsmom Wtf is going on
I am sitting out here trying to make money and it's not happening. Not a big deal it's very early in the morning I get it. But what is with doordash wanting to send us on orders 12 or 13 miles away for $7.15 repeatedly. This is absolutely insane. I just had an order from Denny's for two milkshakes pop up on my screen for $7.15 to go 12 miles. Seriously what the f*** is going on with people lately
